i can think of a few medias that would affect the way others view our country, like Borat, TV shows and more....
I also wonder what age groups are affected and in what ways by western media and entertainment. Are there terrorists who are willing to martyr themselves because they hate America so much, but still enjoy watching Hollywood movies?
I think it could affect their choice of living here or not, but many of them must understand the difference in cultures. They don't drink, we do. They dress modestly, most of us don't. This seems very bad to them, but it's a cultural difference, not we are wrong and they are right.

The United States is much diferent then the middle east, we dress difeently, and do things that they cant do. So,they might think badly of us because of this.
I definietly think our media has a great effect on the world. Americas biggest export is its media. Maybe it would be interesting to see if we deliberatley try to influence others with our massive media camaign or hide subliminal messages in media, which target middle esasterners.
